With focus on the connection to nature, the design features a large window blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, making the cabin part of the landscape.
The prefabricated wooden structure is clad in Icelandic ash on the exterior. The surface is burnt to create a rather dark and maintenance free facade.
The interior consists of ash wood planks for the flooring, while birch plywood is used for the interior walls and furniture to create a warm interior. Together with a delicate lighting, the interior creates a contrast with the dark exterior.
A large skylight was installed in order to enjoy the northern lights dancing in the sky.
A number of cabins will be scattered throughout the large sloping site giving each visitor complete privacy.
